When it comes to destination weddings, there are just as many considerations as there are very good reasons to have one. As we previously discussed in our guide to holiday weddings here on Charismatic Entertainment, things like your wedding guest list and gifts are important things to remember in the planning process. But perhaps one of the most crucial elements in any holiday wedding is the location of your destination itself.
Of course, the perfect venue for a wedding is always going to be a subjective matter. It will change from person to person, and ultimately, it’s the location that speaks the most to you and your partner. But if you don’t know where to start looking, perhaps checking out popular wedding venues around the world can give you some inspiration. That said, the following places on this list are notable for their amenities, wedding packages, and pricing.

Las Vegas is still the leading destination for out-of-town weddings in the US. According to wedding statistics compiled by TripSavvy, around 80,000 weddings are held in the city every year.
Indeed, the city’s wide range of attractions and unique experiences makes for an ideal guest experience. But if you want the venue to be just as impressive, the JW Marriott Las Vegas would be a good pick. The resort boasts 548 guest rooms and suites, along with a swimming pool, a spa, and access to 9 golf courses. The resort also offers in-house catering and wedding planning services.

If you want a uniquely contemporary setting and like the idea of being surrounded by art, then Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art might seem appealing. The place features stunning spaces and a great view of the Chicago skyline.
The average base cost for a wedding here is $39,000. It includes the main floor of the museum, the outdoor terrace, and the sculpture garden. This would allow access to the art galleries surrounding the area as well.

For guests who want to experience big weddings without completely depleting thier bank accounts, then Vietnam is the perfect destination. In Expatbets’ extensive guide to Vietnam, they explain how visitors come to the country because “they can live in luxury for a few thousand dollars.” For those looking to have the ultimate destination wedding, this will certainly help them save money. One particular venue where this can happen is the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula.
The InterContinental Danang is a197-room resort set against a picturesque backdrop of lush rainforests, unspoilt beaches, and mountains. It has a range of venues available. One can choose to hold their wedding right at the beachfront or inside the resort’s grand ballroom. InterContinental also provides an in-house wedding coordinator and events team.
Helena Bay Lodge – New Zealand

For a more intimate wedding, this remote lodge situated on the coastline of New Zealand would provide a breathtaking setting. The property has 5 villas in total and only allows 10 guests at each time. The architecture and interiors of the villas were intentionally designed to be simple so as not to distract from the vast natural beauty around it. The Helena Bay Lodge spans 325 hectares in total, and has a swimming pool as well as tennis and volleyball courts for amenities. In Brian Johnston’s review of the lodge, he also mentioned how one can see plenty of cattle in the surrounding hills, which completes the peaceful countryside look.
While a wedding here would only need a few guests, the prices are still no joke. To give you an idea, the junior suites offer $1,750 per night for two guests, while the villa suites would cost $3,850 per night.
